Naana: "I'm Proud to Be a Challenger!"
Jakarta, September 7, 2024 – The KPN Sports Festival 2024 (KSF 2024) was another huge hit. Basketball was one of the most anticipated sports. In a match held on Wednesday (4/9/2024), the Downstream team successfully defended their third-place title after defeating the Corporate team.
One of the key players from the Downstream team who caught everyone's attention was Noven Yana, or Naana for short. As the only woman on the predominantly male Downstream team, Naana showed an extraordinary fighting spirit, not minding at all that she was playing against mostly men.
"I've been into basketball since middle school," Naana said firmly. "So even though the team is dominated by guys, it doesn't dampen my spirits to join in. I just see myself as a challenger, even if I'm the only girl."
Naana also added that she wasn't afraid of physical contact in basketball.
"The important thing is to be able to challenge myself and learn from the guys because their playing style is different from the girls. It’s more challenging, and it turns out to be really fun," she said.
The Downstream team's success was due in no small part to the strong teamwork among the players. Naana expressed her deep appreciation for the team captain, Yan Bernad, whom she considered a great leader.
The Downstream team's bronze medal win in the KSF 2024 basketball tournament proves that a strong fighting spirit and teamwork can lead to extraordinary results. Naana and the Downstream team's achievement is sure to inspire other KPN Corp employees to keep striving and chasing their dreams. (RyP)
